insurance for a dfw ?

PROTECTED NCB.

What would other dfw choose for car insurance:-

either 1 or 2 ?

1) £190 for a year unprotected

or

2) Pay an extra £85 to get protected No claims bonus.

If i choose 2 then if i have an accident in the year then i presume i would then have a cheaper renewal next year.

so cant decide. (need car for work and its cheaper than train and bus).

  • Well I protect my no-claims but that does seem alot more?

Have you tried a quote with the Prudential because Quidco are doing £100 cashback with them? ;)

are you a careful driver? i would probably go for no 1, i dunno though it's sunday afternoon and i'm all confused!
i hate insurance they do owt to get money out of you but when they have to pay you they find a million and 1 ways not to.
this is not quite the same subject but wouldn't it be good if there was a car insurance where you paid all year then if you didn't make a claim got some of part of your yearly amount back as well as cheaper insurance the next year?!

Thanks. This is the cheapest i can find. some other quotes are twice as much so even with cashback. And i like this company.

This is quite a good offer as they will protect my 3 years NCB which a lot of companies wont do until 4 years.

are you a careful driver? - Well i do try. Am an advanced driver (IAM) but i do a lot of mileage to/from work at the times when everyone else is asleep. i.e. Morning rush hour.

I just would like to save it towards my DFD. But thinking i may be better biting the bullet and maybe saving me plenty. Does anyone on DFW know if its worth the saving as if i have an accident i still have to declare it next year anyway - which they will increase pemium ! Might ask on the insurance board.

I have not had a claim in 20 years, yet my insurance never seems to be any cheaper.
