We have a glut of plums on our plum tree, do you think if I put an offer for someone to pick a bag of them for free on freecycle someone would be interested or is it not really the type of thing to offer on there? I've never used it before.

I regularly get rid of my surplus Bramley apples this way and always get loads of grateful takers.

Got my voucher in the post from Blue Diamond for the almonds cos I couldn't print it for some reason this time. Redeemed the voucher at Waitrose, (after a bit of a kerfuffle as it wouldn't scan). Took ages to find the bloomin things as I was looking in the baking section instead of the snacks....doh!!

Well, if I was offered any kind of free homegrown food, I'd be in there like a shot...I'd offer it to neighbours first (if you like them!) or friends before Freecycle though.

Today I got a free coupon for a packet of Blue Diamond almonds although none of the shops near me do them; not Waitrose, Sainsbury's or Tesco...not even Holland and Barrett.

Good idea from the person who said put the plums in a basket, but last time we did that someone stole the lovely wicker basket as well as the plums

We don't have many neighbours near (the ones near have already got a bag full taken to them fairly regularly), we're a bit stuck out, just outside of the village. I might bag some up and take them to the bottom of the drive where there is a fairly busy road (safe to stop though) and leave a table of stuff there with a optional charity pennies jar?

It seems such a shame for them to go to waste - anyone from Porton near Salisbury/Andover area is welcome to come and help themselves lol. They are DELICIOUS!

I might take some to the village doctors surgery, the ladies there are always very helpful, friendly and have helped us in the past.
    Any other ideas?
We have frozen some to make a plum jelly with, omg, it's amazing, my favourite pudding.

On topic...I got some Ellas Kitchen vouchers so will go and get some treats for my nephew. I also won some crisps in the walkers facebook page thingy so I'll print off the voucher and get them.
The other day I also used the Palmolive voucher and got a free shower gel but I have enough already so I'm going to take it to the local women's shelter as it will be much appreciated there.
  • Make jam with them and freeze it or use it/give it away (the jam that is)...?

Dry them out to make prunes?

    I think - hopefully - I just redeemed the code for a free X box T-shirt.

£2 in MOCs for Burtons Foods for complimenting their Wagon Wheels. Also (very strangely) got sent another £3 MOC for Andrex/Kleenex products - bit weird as I only sent them one lot of feedback and theyve sent me 2 seperate MOCs. Very grateful though! :D
