Lost Motorbike Tax Disc!

My husband has just noticed that his tax disc holder has gone off his bike, along with the tax disc of course. It may have rusted and fallen off or even been stolen. But what do we do now? Will we have to pay for a new one?

I assume you go through the same process as if it was stolen. I would be very surprised if you have to pay for a new one because the DVLA should have the records showing you currently have a valid one. Maybe try asking someone in the Post Office0

Here you go - apparently you have to pay £7 - but thats a whole lot cheaper than buying a new one0 -
I will take all the documents down to the post office tomorrow and see if they will give me another one!0

Hi did going to the post office fix your problem with the tax disc??

Be careful where you leave the bike until you get a replacement. There is an offence of 'not displaying' a tax disc which is seperate to not having bought one.
Your hubby is unlikely to be bothered by the police because the bike will not 'flag up' on their computers as not being taxed as technically you have one in force despite it not being on display.
However if he leaves the bike parked up where some over zealous Nazi traffic warden sees it he will get a ticket.0 -
