Puzzled's Wedding Woes

Sorry to hear you're going to have to put things on hold for a little while. Make sure you keep us all updated when you're able to get back into planning again.
And definitely make sure we get to see photos of your wedding - we have to see the 'motorbike shot'!! :rotfl:
A good few of us will be around for the long haul on this forum - I'll be here for at least two years!
Thanks Jane
Im hoping that we will set a date for not too long away and then we can think about planning again - and im not promising i wont lurk and have more ideas
Two years until your day! Wow!!!! I bet you will have it planned perfectly!

You can always try and help others. And expand your plans with ribbon etc - you can work out the logistics of it all too!
Need to find some nice ribbon for my Fred. The people at the venue asked what cars we would be arriving in as they reserve some spaces and I said Fred - they laughed but I'm not the one who looks stupid shouting at the car when it goes wrong! When you stand on the super market car park wit the alarm blaring you look much more sane shouting at fred - who knows he isn't a dog? Mine is a T reg and I'm unhappy as the H2B has just driven off in him!0 -
Hehe, the ribbon issue is a good one to ponder!
I think you should get Fred in the pics for sure! Just make sure no one stands a child on the bonnet!!

I know, it seems such a long time away at the moment, but I've been reliably informed that it'll go so quickly!
It's mostly cos I intend to DIY so much of it, and want to give myself loads of time to make things so I don't have a total meltdown over the invites!! Also, I'll be a student as of September so will take a long time to save up, even for an MSE wedding!
Haven't done much real planning yet, just lots of ideas and visions of how I'd like it to look! No venue or date, just September-ish 2012 and a massive list of places to investigate!!
Blimey I've rambled, this was only supposed to be a quick note!!!
:heart2::heart2::heart2:Engaged to my lovely man since 27th April 2010:heart2::heart2::heart2::happylove0 -

I was saying to OH last night (while watching dont tell the bride) that you can do things really cheaply, we already have one offer of a cake and my friend and her mum have offered to make me my dress so hopefully we will be able to cut some costs
I think i might linger a bit longer lol, just as long as i keep telling myself that everything is on hold then i will be fine
Oh, and is it just me or does anyone else really, really want to buy wedding magazines?

When i first got engaged, I was buying them all the time but now... not so much. I used to buy them for inspiration and to get ideas but then thought that if I got my ideas from a magazine, I probably wasn't being that original!Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0 -

Thats a very good point - although i like the idea of having lots of ideas it might be very un-original
Maybe i need to start me a scrap book ..........0 -
Confession ......
OH and I's not looking at wedding stuff has failed miserably lol
We so far have offers for the following:
Dress making - friends mum -OTBAG
Dress material - friend and her family OTBAG
Cake - friend OTB
Flowers - family OTG
Photography - family OTG
Guest list done (with a few tweaks needed)
Venue for reception - chosen
Theme - Chosen (its very OH so we just need to accent it with bits of me lol)
Table decorations - ideas formed and names on the way
So really, we are not doing too badly and are getting a hell of a lot for freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
But, we still are not setting a date, we are going to go through and make things, plan things etc etc and then see where we end up in a few months time
Im going to get a scrap book asap and will be starting to make our wedding together

Wellll, nothing really to report on the wedding plans front, except we have made a couple of decisions,
No bike from the reception - OH jumped onto the idea he wouldnt be able to drink and my suggestion of him ferrying the bike home and getting a taxi back was vetoed lol
We have now got family members coming back to us with lots of ideas which is great becuase im not local to the area.
At the moment we are leaning towards ceremony at the town hall with a meal afterwards, we have a guest list of a dozen or so that we can go to a resturant and have a nice meal after - well thats the plan lol.
I am kinda going full circle and have no idea on where to begin with organising a wedding - last time we went abroad and i had very little say.
Has anyone got top tips on what i need to do first - after i have arranged the divorce from the evi ex im guessing a date would be good?0 -

all offers still stand but now our guest list has shrank the whole day has changed
Guest list done (with a few tweaks needed)
reduced dramatically, only nearest and dearest
Venue for reception - chosen
completely changed - need somewhere closer to town hall and with wheelchair access
Theme - Chosen (its very OH so we just need to accent it with bits of me lol)
still the same but on a smaller scale
Table decorations - ideas formed and names on the way
not needed now, but would probably go all out on themed favours

There we go, all up to date lol0
