Can you dye a sofa if it has non-removable covers?

Hi all

I recently bought a solsta sofa bed from IKEA and I want to dye it black....

Only some of the covers are removable....other aren't. I've never dyed anything before and know nothing about it. But what I'm wondering first of all is whether it is even possible to dye the fabric seeing as it is permanently attached to the sofa and so couldn't go in the washing machine or anything like that......

Cheers

Max

Not a good idea, I wouldn't have thought. You can end up with all sorts of different shades, which will probably look far worse.

You can "paint" dye onto fixed covers and fix it with an iron - but you never know how much of it will wear off on your white shirt afterwards...

Far cheaper and easier would be to buy a king-sized black sheet and use it as a throw?
