I think it totally depends on your circumstances and what you want to do, and of course what you count. Personally on skint months I tend to have people over for dinner rather than going out for meals / drinks - I stretch my usual grocery budget to cover it, which isnt hard if you're cooking. I budget seperately for drinks out / meals out / theatre or music tickets each month, which are modified of course by what else I have going on.
I'd say £125 each is a lot if you are rushing to get out of debt - as someone nearly out of debt with a reasonably high income, it would cover my entertaining and nights out, but not short holidays etc.
Your money - if you're not in a debt crisis or heading for one then you should enjoy it!Mortgage free by 30:eek:: £28,000/£100,000

Hi and thanks for your comments. Think we will go with the 125 each and see how it goes. OH knows ciggies got to come out of it not overly happy and has suggested he might get them from the garage when filling up (cant think why he might do that! LOL) but i suppose as long as we stay within budget it doesnt really matter.
OH is a bit of a disaster with money but he is a good person and other than overspending on rubbish he's fine! He just has no idea where it goes - burns holes in his pockets!!!!
Wish me luck lol
