Should I give creditors the wrong phone number?

Hello,

To stop calls to my landline shall I tell creditors my home phone number is changing and give them the wrong number? Or will this tick them off majorly and cause possible problems with setting up a DMP/freezing interest?

They still have my mobile but its easier to screen calls / switch off.

My wife is home more than I am and gets all the hassle.

  • There's a template on here somewhere for insisting on all contact by letter. Use that. Don't lie, it won't look good on you and you'll probably use some other poor soul's number who know's nothing about you and doesn't deserve the hassle either.

Could you get a caller display phone off freecycle or something?

Agree with HC I asked for all contact to be by mail (doesn't always stop them) and I have told them the only number for me is my home number (I have caller display, they never leave a message and you can never call them back on the stupid numbers they call from, so I don't really get hassled - I wouldnt mind the main ones I get calling are for the EX who hasn't lived there for nearly 3 years!)

If my creditors ask for my mobile I say I don't have one anymore and I can't take personal calls at work.
