hi there,
this is my 1st time posting so please bear with me.
i have been with DCM money solutions since Dec 08.
i have stopped paying them the £150 fee for the past 2 months as i have been getting phone calls from my debtors recently saying they haven't received payments from DCM.
i contacted DCM who say they have had problems recently and are now in the process of starting a BACS system whereby they will pay my debtors immediately.
i have in the last 2 months asked for a full breakdown of my account and have just been sent all the relevant details.
from this i can see that they hardly payed anything at the start and it has been sporadic the past 8 or 9 months.
i signed up to view my credit report and see that there is missing payments all over the place.
i challenged DCM about this again and they say that all payments are up to date but i am doubting this.
my problem is that i haven't payed them for 2 months whilst i tried to sort this out and now that i know what i know i'm dubious about going back to them.
Q1, should i stay with them,
Q2 if they have not done what they said they have then can i report them and get my money back for what i deem as negligence against me.
please please please help as i'm tearing my hair out at the thought of my debtors calling and visiting again looking for money !

I think you need to talk to CCCS or another charity that will administer your DMP for free. You shouldn't be paying for it. I also think you need to talk to trading standards if you think money has gone missing.
Make a note of how much you've paid them each month, how much they were charging you and how much your creditors say they've received (or as shown in the statement you got). If there's any money missing then you definitely need trading standards. Demand the balance of any money not handed over or deducted in agreed fees back.
I think you need to be pretty assertive with this. It's not acceptable for them to fail to administer your DMP for you. They've broken their contract so they shouldn't penalise you for therefore backing out on the contract.
You probably can't get additional compensation but its worth asking. Someone more knowledgeable than me can probably tell you if the FSA or someone is regulating these guys and can take up a complaint for you.I'm a qualified accountant but please make sure you get expert advice as any opinion is made in a private capacity.

Hi itsnoteasy,
You definately need to talk to the consumer credit counselling service, payplan or national debtline who all offer dmps with absolutely no fees attached. This means all your money goes towards paying off the debts. I went with a company and ended up paying 3 payments similar to yours without creditors receiving a penny. When contacted, they informed me they keep the first 3 months payments! My advice is to get rid of them as soon as possible, as they make money from something that the above companies help you with for free!If you've nothing decent to say, perhaps you shouldn't say anything.
