Claiming back dentist fees?

I'm being quoted £80 for a dental consultation as there's no NHS spaces in my area. I'm currently a student with only income being student support, am I able to claim it back or do I just swallow it?

You can't claim back private dental fees from anywhere - other than any insurance you might have specifically for it.
How did you go about looking for an NHS place? Best way is usually to contact the local PCT, whose responsibility 'access' to NHS dentistry is.How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0
