If anyone watched the last episode they would have seen a brilliant invention which will really help parents with kids that the seat belt doesnt quite fit without digging into their neck/body..resulting in them 'submarining under it or just having the belt over their lap. The guy who invented it has got it on sale in a small amount of indepdent shops (so he said) and i want to buy one. Have looked for links on the bbc2 website but cant seem to find anywhere to e-mail them. Did anyone beat me to this by any chance??

I watched Dragons den and thought how fantastic the idea was.
My 2nd thought was how uselsss it is with the new law regarding booster and child seats comming in to play on monday.
I cant quite work it out how the police will be checking people if they have a seat or not the easy way is to notice the child isnt high up in the window which the booster seat will do. I expect if they accept this product as another option to the child seats you will be constantly checked buy police if they are going to be checking as they cant see the childs head in the window.
The adjuster does exactly the same job by moving the position of the seatbelt so it doesnt cut in to the neck but will the law allow it to be use instead of a booster seat? I havent read up on it im just going off the reports on TV and radio. I will have a look now.
EDIT:
Taken from [URL="http://www.thinkroadsafety.gov.uk/campaigns/childc!!!!ats/childc!!!!ats.htm#03[/URL]Seat belt adjusters are comfort devices and not safety devices (check what the manufacturer says about them and their intended use). Only if an adjuster is labelled that it has been approved (and therefore tested) to the UN ECE Regulation 44.03 type-approval standard can it used instead of a type-approved child seat/booster.
The Autosafe one is UN ECE Regulation 44.03 or ECE R44/03 as the autosafe site displays it so they are an acceptable replacement. I think Duncan Bannatyne and Peter Jones will make alot of money out of this.
The Argos metro shoulder belt adjuster aparently doesnt comply to the 44.03 regulation and is now only sold as a comfort device, it did meet the regs when released but the regs were changed and it no longer does.0 -
We thought this was a great idea.
We've used booster cushions with our eldest before now in emergencies, and whilst they have a similar device fitted, because it is attached to the booster rather than the actual car seat, it was about as much use as a chocolate fireguard (the seatbelt would pull it, rather than it pulling the belt)
We have two boys currently in booster seats (with backs), but eldest is not far off moving to a cushion (no back) so will definitely be buying one of these when that happens - and now I know where to find itDFW Nerd no. 884 - Proud to [strike]be dealing with[/strike] have dealt with my debts0 -
