Best Places for Mens Suits?

Hi All

I'm starting a new job soon as a manager and need to find a couple of suits, shirts, ties etc. but not wanting to spend too much. I've not worn suits to work for years and am surprised at the several hundred pounds I might have to spend.

Can anyone advise where I might be best looking? I've checked places like M&S, Next etc. and some of there's are £150, shirts £20 each. I'm after a reasonable suit and not a £35 one from Matalan :)

Thanks

GF

They have a wide range of styles and good quality at sensible prices.
The outlet shops have even better deals

It's a beautiful suit. Try your local charity shops. Helping both yourself and the charity.

If you've got one near you a shop called Slaters Menswear stocks a large range of suits for all prices, and tailors them to fit for free.

Actually looking at it they appear to do online as well but I would suggest the better approach would be to pop down if possible.
  • TKMaxx. Excellent selection, some designer labels. Hit and miss though. Need to rummage. Mrs SM is a top rummager.....
  • There is no choice, only one. Marks and Spencer and their washable range. Forget expensive dry cleaning costs as you will never have to pay them again. Remember that the cost of a suit is not only the up front cost and I can testify that their washable range is fine, more than fine actually. Get 2 pairs of trousers and when washing, put in a bag, even though they say you do not have to. let it dry, do not tumble and just iron as normal. Easy and no looking back from me.

My husband wears a suit every day and most are from Matalan (which I know you said you didnt want). They wear well, he doesnt buy the cheapest suit but the best value good quality suit comes to around £70.

I have to agree with the above post. I have used m&s suits for the last couple of years and they have lasted well.
Even better value if you have a factory outlet store near you - picked up an excellent suit for around £50.00 last year.
