ive suffered in the past with anxiety but had no pain my symptoms were tight chest and breathing problems mine got quite bad as i was under a lot of stress at the time and was hospitalised with a suspected heart attack apparently your body mimmicks these symptoms.
i am due to start a job in a weeks time and i am already feeling anxious about it as ive been out of work for 18mths its only a temporary contract but at least its a start.0 -
I occasionally suffer from that same kind of thing that you describe - I always refer to them as anxiety attacks but I think the names are interchangeable really.
I use breathing to control them and it really helps me ... you breathe in deeply for a count of 5, hold for one, and breathe out slowly for a count of 7. You can change the lenghts of the breaths to suit, just as long as the 'out' breath is longer than the 'in' breath.
I also recommend cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) - might be worth asking your doctor if your local mental health team runs any CBT courses in your area?

I bought a bottle of rescue remedy today and tried a few drops, I dont know if its just in my head but I feel slightly better (as in not so anxious) so whatever works I guess. My body still aches like I have flu but I am going to continue with the drops and read a few articles. I think maybe an early night might help as well. Thanks for listening and replying as chatting to others does help especially from you guys who have this problem as well, much appreciated!!0

10 years ago i suffered with the most awful panic attacks....really thought i was dying when they happened but then as time went by i realised that actually i was still alive after each one and it started to help! Then went to see a hypnotherapist and it was the best thing i ever did. Rescue remedy maybe in the mind but who cares as i always felt better with that. Recently i have started to have more anxiety attacks which nothing would help. Felt constantly on edge and in a state of anxiety all the time. Also felt very low,no get up and go etc. Had a bit of a meltdown. Went to Doctor and was prescribed citalopram. Bit weird at first, been on them now nearly 5 weeks and honestly it was the best decision i made.Has completely taken the edge of everything. Feel like me again for the first time in months. I do believe there is a difference between panic and anxiety. Obviously the drugs route is a last resort but having lived with this before i didn't want to let it take over my life again. Really hope you get it sorted as its horrible to live with and unless people have been through it they just don't get it. xxxxIf music be the food of love then play on"No matter what happens, or how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow". ღ ~Maya AngelouDoing it for my kids.
