I don't understand why so many of you think mashed potato is a problem to freeze. I make my mash in the usual way (adding a little milk and butter) and if I have any left over I seal it in a freezer bag and pop it in the freezer until needed. I either defrost it naturally by getting it out of the freezer the night before I'm going to use it, or I put it on a plate and defrost it in the microwave. Either way it's almost as good as when I made it fresh.0

i agree with all of the tips given here!
Another one would be that if you are short of space and have a bag or two of frozen veg, get some food or sandwich bags, put the right amount of veg in each one and dot them around inthe freezer where you have a tiny bit of space- there are ALWAYS pockets of space in freezers. Also, when I buy things like fish or pies, i eat what I want, bag up whats left in the box, cut out the cooking instructions, seal it up and chuck it back in the freezer. Takes up less space cos the annoyingly large boxes arent in there anymore :-)
And one more thing- instant mash can be ok sometimes- just add less water and a wee bit of butter, milk and pepper and away you go :-)I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards.
