  • Good Morning all you lovely peeps,

Picture the scene, Am up at 5am, dressed by half past, out to get car ready after the snow fall during the night.

All windows clear, windscreen wash all checked. Dug the drive out last night, had to do it again this morning, So, all ready for the off.

I have my bag and keys in my hand, I slip on my path, but dont actually fall. But bag and keys go flying across the driveway. Now, my bag is as big as the tyne tunnel so easy to see in the dark. Bag retrieved. Now where the chuff did my keys fly to. Its like looking for a needle in a ruddy haystack. Found housekeys but car key come off the keyring. I have just spent last 20 minutes sifting through the fooooookin snow for my key.

I have now found it. Fingers blue, nose dripping with icicles almost. Muck fee its cold. Kettle on for hot drink before I set off. Please let there be no more mishaps today. Or should I should go back to bed. LOL

    Speak later if I make it back today x x x x x x

    Morning everyone :o

Lovely weather we're having .....snow is now at "over the wellies" depth:eek:. The road is quiet and peaceful - and I wasn;t woken up this morning by the usual thundering sounds of 4x4's making their way to the two schools down the road :)

Sorry i was a bit tiddled last night......I was actually rather upset. I have spent the last 72hours on a forum trying to persuade a 14year old girl to take their piggie to the vet that became ill after she fed them lthe wrong food. She has repeatedly ignored the "softly softly" advice from me and others and instead (which is what really angered me) posted videos and pictures of the guinea pig suffering over the last few days  clearly revelling in the sympathy vote. So having had plenty of Dutch courage last night (as you may have gathered:o ), I finally bit the bullet and made a diplomatic but strong statement in red and said they were in danger of breaching the animal welfare act and needed to get their parents to take the piggies to the vet today without fail. Unfortunately it was too late - both piggies died early this morning :(.....yet if they had got to the vets on monday those piggies would probably still be alive.

It really angers me when parents let their kids have piggies but then won't take them to the vets when the piggies get sick....and either let them die a painful death, dump them in the wild (or in one recent case a dustbin), or try to get the piggie put down just because it has a medical condition requiring long term meds. I realise not everyone can afford vets bills atm....but there are rescues they can give the animal up to who will look after, treat and eventually rehome them....and there are many piggie owners on that forum who have already rehomed extra piggies because the previous owners have found themselves in financial difficulties. I know I can;t save every piggie.........but this particular case really got to me.

    OK Rant over :D

Well today we are keeping all fingers and paws crossed that Smashed makes it safely to work and back....cos she does seem to be a bit accident prone atm if her last post is anything to go by :rotfl:
I shall be finishing off the client work :) and start to contemplate the tax return . I've checked on the elderly neighbours to make sure they're OK and surrendered my non-urgent GP appointment this morning to a needier case as they were so short-staffed.

.......and I think I'm going to stay off that other forum for a bit ....it's clearly bad for my health.:rotfl:

Can't blame you being upset and angry about the stupidity of the girl and her parents and the consequences of her actions.

Hope the rest of the day goes to plan for you xxx
