RIGHT!! THATS IT!! I am going to neeeed HELP!!

I am in debt. Time to sort it out and keep to it. It makes me feel so ashamed, guilty, wrectched, stupid, terrified all in one go. So much so i am terrified to look at my bank account, which obviously doesn't help manage the money!! I am 40 years old and in a mess, see below.
Made a good start with this website, and looked at cccs and its more cashflow - and mega debt that causes me problems! Decided to get rid of anything I can to bring the debt down. Mate told me about music magpie .com- just put get cds dvds etc and go on the website and put the barcode number in and they will give you a price- anything from 30p - £3, which if you have a stack of cds etc you don't listen to anymore, can be quite lucrative.:T
Also rag and phone man - they will give you 50p a kilo for clothes, bags etc you want to get rid off.

My eldest is hopefully going to uni in sept, and I can't give hr any money support. Feel v bad. Its summer hols and can't do anything with my youngest, and cheap / free ideas of things to do welcome.:(

Has anyone ever got any money from these daily scratch cards or competitions? Any ideas welcome!!!

I am sure that there will be many people in the same situation as you during the school holidays. We are taking a picnic to the local park today (my kids are 2 and 6) so it will be free and lots of fun. How old is your youngest? Is there a chance that your eldest child can find a holiday / part time job to give her some extra spending money whilst at uni (I worked in McDonalds full time during the LONG summer holidays before I started Uni.)

Hope you get some useful replies. If your child is of primary school age, there is a magazine that they should have received from school that details all the events that are going on every day in your area (most are free to attend). It is called PRIMARY TIMES.

Depending on how old your youngest is, see what children's activities are on at your local libraries. There have been some great sessions on for kids in libraries around here & all free.
2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
    2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!

Have a check on the internet to see if any community events or anything going on nearby. Depending on the weather going out to the park, for a nature walk or looking for any National Trust areas close-by, taking a picnic also saves on buying food out. As someone said above local libraries often have fun events over the holidays, or a museum, not sure whereabouts you are but some ones near me with great interactive areas that the kids love. Depending on how old they are what about baking together or arts and crafty stuff?
You don't have to spend loads, I remember when I was little my mum used to make us a tent in the back garden with some sheets drapped over some kitchen chairs and not only did we love it but ended up with most of the kids in the neighbourhood round :)
