Hi
Sorry if i'm in the wrong place for this question but not sure where to start the thread.
I recently received a letter from capquest saying I owe £721.33 from a debt for littlewoods direct aquired at my old address from october 2009.It is definitely nothing to do with me as I haven't lived there for nearly 2 years and they have my birth date wrong.
They are requesting that I send proof of who I am,Birth date and proof of address at time the debt was taken out. I can provide these but after reading posts about this 'dodgy' company are very reluctant to do this.
They are saying if I don't then they consider this debt to be mine and will proceed with legal action.
Don't really know where to go with this,be gratefull If anyone can help?

Hi
It is for them to prove that you are the correct debtor, not the other way round.
I would however start by getting hold of your credit records in case there are any other surprises and also taking out a protective CIFAS regsitration to stop further fraud. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Try sending them this letter.....

Thanks to both of you for your replys. I'll be sure to check my credit report and send that letter off0
