  • You don't say whether HFC hosts your current account, but assuming it doesn't, why not call your own bank to ask where this item originated?

Did you buy an electrical item, pc or something similar about a year ago, with a year before you had to make the payment in full?

I ask this because we bought our PC from PC World in Sept 2004, and the DD for payments (including interest) were due to start in September 2005, to HFC Bank. We diarised to pay it all off in full -interest free - in the August, so never paid anything to HFC.

Is there anything like this that you've forgotten about?

BTW my paperwork says the same phone number you've got, but states that they are open 8am till 6pm weekdays, and only 9am to 2pm Saturdays. I would try calling them on Monday if you can't work out what this is all about.

Surely you should be ringing Abbey and query the item. Let Abbey tell you what the charge from HFC was for.
  • If you don't put a number in it will ask you again for the number twice then will put you through to people as it assumes you don't have a touch tone phone :)
