  • Its about time the UK Child Support laws gets tougher on people who look for any loophole available to them to avoid supporting their kids, too many loopholes exist. (NEED I LIST THEM!) Well done Canada and Austrialia, America is good too I hear....

Playinghardball... Please do list them!!! I haven't been able to find one!!! The only one I can find is to give up my job... But then that defeats the object of paying less, and having more money!!! I AGREE WE HAVE TO PAY, but the amount I have to pay, (which does not include back payments) leaves me with hardly anything to live on, and we're lucky enough not to have any debts! And when my partner had our child, we saved a whopping £8 a week too support her! We struggle every month to survive, paying rent, bills, and food... Where my ex lives on benefits, gets her rent paid for, and gets a few more hundred pound a month from me, which in itself is a wage too some! (Yet when she kicked out one of my sons, who went too live with my mother, because of the benefits she's on, she didn't have to pay a penny, not even a fiver a week!)
AND... We get tax credits for our child, did you know she gets a cut of that too!!! When tax credits work out our income, they give us that extra, because they say we need it too survive, then we get it taken off us to pay towards the maintenance!! (But her tax credits aren't going too my mum). (May I just add, I pay for all my children. But the one that suffers the most is the one living with me now!)
The whole CSA system is not fair at all... It should be means tested on both sides!!

Totally agree, and think the new system where people on benefits do not have to declare child support payments as income for assessment is another kick in the face to those who want to support their children.

It isn't fair and definately needs further improvements. Hopefully we'll see them in our childrens lifetimes!

Playinghardball... Everything I was screaming at you yesterday I take back!!! :S I understand where you are coming from, and thank you for understanding there are NRP's who want to pay, and PWC's who abuse the system!!! I hope we do see it in our children's life time...
  • I had my earplugs in, I didn't hear you screaming! lol. As you say, there is total abuse of the system both ways.

Fair play to you for bringing up a kid that isn't yours (which is a hard enough job) BUT you're not even with the Mother.

Dunno what it says about her as a Mother though

    My thoughts exactly LoopyGirl
