Here is some more cheap milk. Farm Foods sell 2 lots of 2 litres = 4 litres ( about 7 and a half pints) for £1.50. They also have Hovis bread standard 800g loaves at 2 for £1. This is available until the end of September. If you are stocking up your freezer or doing a weekly shop you may be able to combine the offer with coupons currently dropping through letter boxes. Iceland are next best at £1.10 for 4 pints ( about 2.2 litres) of milk and 2 loaves of standard 800g Warburtons bread for £2.0

The milk and the bread are both still 50p at Morrisons.0

This is all very well and good but does anyone know how this is being funded? Farmers get paid little enough for their milk to start with so if the supermarkets have forced the price down even more then surely this cannot be considered a good buy.
Or does the world really not care about such things any more?0 -

Some can & do care, but I suspect many on limited budgets cannot afford to care.
I am sure all would prefer to buy organic, free range, Fairtrade & ethical, however this is not an available choice to some struggling to keep themselves & family fedMember of "Rubbish at Radishes" club0 -

I completely agree and I think there is a case that supermarkets are too powerful, but they are equally unscroupulous towards their customers. I normally buy milk from a local corner store who have been charging 89p for 4pt green top and blue top for at least 6months. Other small stores are selling for 1.20 with the supermarkets closer to 1.50.
If the small independent shop can do it, so could the big boys.
Yes, supermarkets force suppliers prices down unrealistically but do not reduce their own very good profit margin.

Morrions take the loss in profit, as it attracts more customers in the store, who will then also impulse buy whilst there, suppliers/farmers still charge the same price.0

The other really cheap place for bread and milk is Farmfoods, the frozen food shop. If you are anywhere near one they do 2 loaves of Hovis bread for £1 and 2 x 2 litres of milk for £1.50 and this offer has been on for ages.:j0
