Canon Pixma iP1600 - cheap @ Argos

Hi All,
New to this Forum, so hope I am putting this in the right place!
Needed a new printer (Lexmark died). Searched through the forum for the best printer to get, and decided on a Canon. Shopped around town, left Argos until last as I wanted to compare prices, and as we are on a TIGHT budget at the moment, needed to use our precious Nectar points. We had around £45 to 'spend'.
Anyway, Canon Pixma iP1600 - £49.99 -reduced to £39.99. Asked to have a look in the box to see if it came with (1) ink & (2) USB Cable. (tips from this forum - thank you.)
Came with ink, no USB Cable. At the Desk, the cashier asked if the printer was for a present?, did we mind if the box wasn't in perfect condition? as she had some at the back of the shop would sell us at £24.99, as canon had sent them too many?!
So anyone who needs a new printer, try Argos for this one. (the Argos in question was the Mansfield, Nottingham branch.
Checked condition of printer - perfect.

i think its about £25-£30 for a black and a colour so not cheap0 -
just bought one of these from Aamzon, £29 including delivery and cartridges are about £10, though at this price you may as well just buy a new printer and sell the old one on e-bay without cartridges??something missing0

Been looking for cheap ink for the Canon Pixma iP1600 - I am told that cartridgeworld sell the compatible (or refills?) for around £5. Going to check this out tomorrow - will let you know when I find out correct prices.0 -
is everyone else's as noisy as mine, just installed it and it keeps chuckering away, its quiet for 5 mins and then something activates and it makes a sort of noisy cog wheel sound for about 5 seconds and then shuts up again??? this is when I am not printingsomething missing0
