Mortgage after bankruptcy

Has anyone managed to get a mortgage after discharge? If so what deposit did you need? I just want to know if it is realistically an option I've not actually started looking in to it seriously.

very difficult but not impossible....with at least 80% or so deposit in a while (3yrs + from date of discharge)

Don't think I'm in a position to save up 80%. But I suppose it was worth looking into!0

I think he means 80% loan to value so you would need a 20% deposit0

my OH was discharged for about 4 years before he tried although this is when they were throwing morgatges at you. (2002) He got away with a 7% depoit at the time. obviously this was a while ago an unlikely to be considered in the very near future but if you are in a position to start saving from now, i woul dsay by teh time you can get a reasonable mortgage, you may well have a good deposit saved. Thats my take on it.. once i have paid off my wedding! lolProud to be Member of BSC #92Hoping to get debt free again :wall::heart2: working hard to make my daughters proud :heart2:0
