Hi everyone,


this phone number is getting on my nerves :mad: its calling me 4 to 5 times a day, i answered it last week and someone said "can i speak to miss *****", i said "im speaking" and then phone cut off, they have continued to call and now the phone just cuts off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :mad: ive looked into it and i think its something to do with halifax, however i owe them nothing so i dont know what they are calling me for as they dont speak !!! :mad: arggghhhhh.

Anyone else had dealings with this number ???

The number is RBOS (also HALIFAX) debt recovery.

We have received dozens of calls from a variety of companies using this tel no (Halifax/RBOS/Natwest) as we are starting on a DMP with CCCS.

It occured to me that this may be a 'workround' number as we have call barring for witheld numbers on our phone. I know that there is a prefix which can be dialled to by-pass call barring - perhaps these companies use something similar and this is the number which shows up?

THEY CALLED AGAIN ALL DAY :mad: and on the 6th attempt of the day i answered and they actually spoke ... hallaluya !!

it was to do with sainsburys bank, told me they have not received my letter, funny how they cashed the cheque that was attached to it lol...

This number rings us too - we answer each time either to be hung up upon or for someone to talk and then hang up on us.

Useless Halifax.

There's a number of things you can do:

1. Register with the telephone preference service
2. Complain to OFCOM
3. Get BT/your telephone provider to block the number

i just thought i am Registered with the telephone preference service, i did this about 2 months ago... hmmmmm

Halifax and BANK of Scotland are part of the HBOS group. Natwest is part of ROYAL Bank Of Scotland and is a totally different company to HBOS.

Nope it is BANK of Scotland. Not ROYAL Bank Of Scotland who are owners of Natwest.
