The regular email i get from Lidl today features a sort of plastic press in three sizes to make pasties / dumplings / pasta parcels for £1.99.
It looks like a handy device, has anyone used these ?

Hi,
I bought something similar from tchibo many years ago and have used them to make ravioli and pasties. I think they are really good, but you have to make sure that you don't overfill them or roll the pastry/pasta too thick or thinly - it's just a case of trial or error. They are quite good for getting the kids involved in cooking as well. HTH0 -

I had a set of two from Lakeland a long time ago, but by the time I'd lifted the pastry on, put the filling in, sealed the edges & lifted it off again, I found using them was more time-consuming & fiddlier than making pasties, gyoza etc the normal way
I'm not trying to pour cold water on your idea, it's just my individual experience & I'm sure there are lots of people who get on fine with them0 -
The thing is i've tried doing pasties by hand and make a mess, i think i do them to big, it's like HM burgers i'm the same with them, i make them too big as well, so think i'll try them for the price, and look for a burger one when that comes up.
