Your planning to get professional advice to start a PT spray tan business. How are you paying for this?

I bet we could give you a lot of advice; I think we all just know where this is going and that is you presenting some delusional crap unprofitable business plan you want the taxpayer to pay for to lose.
ya so off the mark its unreal. And yes professional advice , there are pleanty organisations that offer information. If you could see past your own nose youd know that. ( and if you read my posts this is a PART TIME idea to go along side a full time job) GET IT
And im so sorry your so unhappy with yourself it makes you feel better by trying to inflict negativity upon others.

Shows what you know , and no you prob couldnt offer any advice as your prob a "if its not your way its noway " kinda personYou need to put ya views aside and chill out

Yes i know that DCFC79.............you always get those people. But the fact of the matter is........why answer a post if you really have no intention of being informative? Isnt that what a forum is for?
And i posted in the relevant section. I wasnt the one that opted to answer a question i simply couldnt answer , just criticise !!!! judas your in the wrong thread

but as its a public forum anyone can post

in any case all questions asked by us on here are sensible and reasonble ones,

    answer these questions

OP can I just ask how long have you been looking for a job ? a month, 3 months

is this SE idea just a spur of the moment or have you been thinking of it for some time ?

have you looked at what tanning places are available where you live ? as it would be hard to compete with already established ones,

wouldnt you need to get some qualifications first

Which post hasn't been answered Nathsgirl? It seems to me that people are trying to help you. Ok Judas was a little harsh but his (I assume its a he) original post was actually quite a sensible one. What is the reason that you want to go self employed on a part time basis? Part time obviously means there will be far less return on any investment because you aren't working as much to earn money.

I think if you are only intending to have a part time business then you will be lucky to find anyone who is going to fund it for you as, as Judas says, there will be very little chance of a return for the investor.

I also think that DCFC79's questions are important as well. Do you have any qualifications in this field? It is relevant as it could not only influence if you're successful in your venture but also whether anyone is willing to help fund it. If I had the money I may fund a trained and qualified tanning expert but I doubt I'd give any money to somebody who doesn't know the first thing about tanning (i'm not saying that is you by the way).

Have you researched how much competition is in your area? Again it is important as you will most likely not get any funding for a business in a saturated area but may in an area where there is a real market for it because again it is all about potential return.

How long have you been unemployed? This is really important as it will affect what support you would get from a variety of sources (job centre for example).

Have you wanted to go self employed for a while or has this idea just come to you? It isn't as important as the others from the point of view of funding or anything like that but it is important to you personally and to the success of the business.

I hope you don't take my post as being critical because it really isn't and I hope you get your funding and do well in your business but I do really think they are questions that you should answer to help people help you more.

I only thort id try this site as i have found it very interesting. I was under the impression i may have had some interesting replys and be able to carry my research further through diferent sources from people who have experienced a similar profession/ or self employment. So cant see how me answering HOW LONG HAVE I BEEN UNEMPLOYED helping me any further etc.

That's good then that you'll be getting qualified, it will certainly help you out.

It's your choice obviously but if I were you I'd stick around as this site really is great and you will get some good advice. Remember that you've only had replies from a handful of people so far which is a tiny amount compared to the amount of members on here.

As I say it's completely up to you but whatever you decide to do good luck with it. I hope everything works out ok for you
