drycleaning curtains

We have a pair of old JL ready mades in our spare bedroom that are very dirty round the top and bottom. The last pair we drycleaned shrunk and became unusable.
Is there any reliable way to dry clean curtains so they don't shrink?

Also does anyone know where I can get (cheaply) black out lining sewn into the existing curtains. I have a pair of sale JL black out linings of the same size but it's too clumsy to hang them separately from the actual curtains.
thanks!

I never sry clean mine, I always wash in the machine in a very low temperature. Never had any problems.

There are dry cleaning products that you can buy to do it yourself at home.

seeing as though the dry cleaners are going to shrink 'em, may as well have a go at home for free (almost) in ye anciente washing machine and see what happens. No way am I ironing them though :rotfl:

I've got some JL curtains I was thinking about getting dry cleaned so I'd be interested to know how you get on with cool machine washing them. I think the pattern of the curtains was called 'Emma'. Does anyone have these and has washed or DC them please?

ETA: They were 'Emma' - they still have them on site:
