Marks and Spencer 20% furniture - what next?

We're about to redecorate our front room and fancy making use of M&S's 20% giftcard offer that runs to the 24th - I can practically buy the TV I want from that (though the price will probably go up by the time the furniture and card arrives!) ... but I wonder what will happen on the 25th? That's quite a saving that M&S are offering, I wonder if they're going to remove the offer and drop the prices - would be great to hear from anyone with some "educated guesses"

I used to work in M&S furniture department.
Basically, there are always offers on the furniture, that change about once a month. The current one is the giftcard one, which they've done once before. When it ends, another will start. It probably won't be on everything, could be just leather sofas and occasional cabinet for example, but on certain things you might get 30 or even 40 percent off.
If you definitely want something else from M&S, go for the giftcard offer. If not, and you don't mind waiting, I'd hold off and see if a better offer comes on.0 -
I would say that if you see something you want & its in stock, then go for the current offer, don't hang about.
M&S change the sofa fabrics really quickly, so if you've seen something you definitely want, don't hang around.
We made use of the 20% giftcard at the start of the year for a new sofa & footstool. After the offer finished it was back up to full price for a short time, & then no longer available in our fabric choice.0 -
Just make sure they really really have the fabrics they let you order. I am currently having a nightmare with them about a suite I ordered 6 weeks ago, it's been confirmed several times, by phone and letter, and paid for. Was due to be delivered today. They phoned me LESS THAN 24 HOURS BEFORE DELIVERY to tell me it has never even been made, the fabric is now out of stock. Apparently it's OK not to bother telling people at the start of the six weeks that there's no fabric, while they go out and buy the rest of their room to co-ordinate in that intervening period.

Bye bye band G. Thats exactly what happened with us, we even had the e-mail saying it had been dispatched from the factory, & they'd taken payment.
When we called up, the first Customer Services assistant had no idea & was pretty useless (didnt even offer an apology), her supervisor was better, but still offered us nothing, just a refund. Eventually her supervisor price matched the original sofa (which we'd bought on a special promotion) against a new sofa & gave an extra £50 discount.
Good luck0
