Is my credit rating getting better when....

Littlewoods having sent me my statement for this month and before my credit limit went down to around 165 from 200 when I was having a lot of difficulties making ends meet. Anyway I have been paying things on time for about 3 months and today the limit has jumped up to 375! Now I know it isn't a lot compared to what some owe(I used to have a 1500 limit in the early days!) but it is quite a big leap when you put the two amounts in perspective. Now I just wondered if any one knew if that may mean my credit rating is improving overall or just with Littlewoods????

  • To be honest I seriously will never use them again. I work for the company as a delivery driver and only used it before I got my staff discount. Now that I get a discount I would refuse ever paying their prices again, especially with interest they are a bunch of robbing you know whats ;)
I just thought it was nice to have them up it as I was hoping it might mean i'm getting somewhere in my quest for a decent mortgage.
  • Well I'm not sure if it would help you with your mortgage but I would still be tempted to reduce the limit as I would want to reduce the amount of availale credit to me so that it was thought I had access to too much credit.

  • Thanks for your advice I know what you are saying. As regards to a mortgage, what I meant is I would like to get a decent one(if that even exists!) and at the moment I have been refused but if my limit is being upped here then it could be a sign my CR is getting better and I may get a mortgage sooner then I thought.
I only have 100 pounds left to pay and it is being closed so for me it is just nice to see them offering me more to try and tempt me into being their customer again.
Like I said I get all their stuff at at least half price now so they have no chance of EVER seeing me make another order ;)

    Hi,

My credit limit goes up with littlewoods all the time because i pay DD. Since it has gone up twice i have received a ccj so i can't see that it would be in general just that you are a good payer with that company, doesn't hurt your credit rating though.
