question - 'cash for clicks' on multiple cashback sites

I've just started using cashback sites, and usually do a few paid clicks each day.
I know that they are always looking out for 'fraudulent' clicks, and I was wondering, would clicking through to the same site via different cashback sites be a problem? (eg if I click through to Kelkoo from Greasy Palm, then again from R Points, and so on).

I wasn't sure how they track this - I wondered if more than the allowed number of clicks per day from a single IP address might cause problems, even if the clicks were made via different cashback sites?

hope that makes sense!

I susect that people would like to answer, but the response you require could warant a thesis. This a very educated and valued question and bit by bit you will get the answers. A team effort to answer this would be beneficial to mse.
  • thanks Caggie :)

I've read some of the other cashback threads, & have noticed that quite a few ppl say that they do clicks on several sites a day, so I was wondering if they do the same clicks on each site. Maybe I'll ask again on those threads if I don't get an answer here. Didn't really realise it was a complex question! :D

it is not a complex question caggie...the simple answer is I have been clicking on kelkoo for over a year now on various sites every day and had no problem.I normally click on the same things..e.g perfumes for a few seconds on each site and get my points..I do the same with buy central...but only for a few months..with the same results....Prizewinner on mutual points ,you have to leave the comp on there site for a few minutes ..so I don,t bother with them, and the only one I have had a problem with is The HighStreet Web who will catch you out if you do speedy clickthroughs...and then they will say you can,t use their site once they feel your abusing them..unless you send an email to explain why...I will get over £500{tax free} this year for doing about 20minutes of clickthroughs per day ..so its well worth it...and I do occasionally buy from the sites too....so my advice is why you can .DO IT..
  • I don't think you should have a problem as the tracking software that identifies the 'clickers' I.P address belongs to the cashback sites not the merchants (e.g Kelkoo) so unless they all have a secret database somewhere where they compare I.P addresses like Insurance companies do? then you'll be safe!!
  • Thanks funnyguy & abijanzo - that's good news! :)
  • Shoot me down if you want, but I think clicking links for money rather than genuine interest is just plain fraudulent and encouragement on MSE to do this will mean that merchants that offer PPC to affiliates will in future withdraw their programs completely from cashback sites.
  • getting 500 quid for 20 mins a day all year, thats slave labour mate. u could make more dressing up like a !!!!ing tramp and begging outside a !!!!ing train station

I don't think that either the cashback sites or the paid click sites would be too bothered. After all, every time you get your 10p from, say, Kelkoo, they probably get 20p from their sponsors. Fine they have to show their sponsors that they're not encouraging this sort of thing, but then they get paid per click as well so they're not going to turn away your income if it's only a few times a day.

The sponsors are looking for a quality service, not to be ripped off with essentially worthless clicks. It is not good for the reputation of a comparison site if there is widespread click fraud going on. Yeah, a few times a day x number of users doing this will be a substantial sum overall.
  • i make that equiv £5.81 per hour - the trick is to do it from work , but i didnt say that.
click throughs are advertising, companies cannot use advertising as guarenteed profit return advertising is a risk, it is no different to ad words (google) where competitors click on ads to knock other small companies daily profits. i do it as genuine searches as part of my daily buying needs it makes peanuts but why not (but i already know what the site has and at what price does that make me wrong as well?).
keep clicking folks it makes companies use real price cuts to attract customers, marketing forces in action.
