  • You could always get some cans of the fake snow stuff that you spray on the windows at christmas and spray that all over them?

Windolene is the stuff, you can do similar with watered down white emulsion too.
My Mind wanders, if found please return.

If you can't find Windolene, visit the local garden centre and look for Greenhouse Whitening (It's a white powder you use to screen out the sun) it does the same job, and it washes off afterwards!

This brings back memories for me, of when my Grandad used to write on his shop window with 'whitening' to display his price lists and special bargains etc. It was easily removed by wiping with a scrunched up newspaper..........no need for water or cleaning fluids.;)

If any shopkeepers left the writing on their windows overnight, it was often 'altered' by mischievous children.:D

If the Greenhouse Whitening is the same product, it will be just as easy to clean off when you need to remove it. Make sure you apply it to the inside surfaces, to avoid being 'altered'.;)

    Regards

I've seen houses with sheets of newspaper covering the windows while they are decorating. Thought I'd mention it in case you can't get any whitening/Windolene.
Here I go again on my own....
  • Tried the windowlene today and no matter how much i put on the window it just went transparent after a few minutes . mabe it was the sun today....going to try the white emulsion thinned downt omorrow. wonder would i need to clean the window first. and the windowlene stinks ! lol lol

The Windolene has to be applied thickly with a cloth, it was always a messy job! That's why no one uses it for cleaning anymore. With the emulsion go easy with it and experiment with how much water you need, other than that you could try Sport Shoe / Trainer Whitening, that comes with the sponge thing on top, that might work and it will rub off when dry.

  • Flour & water solution is what I've always thought was used to block people from seeing in. Worth a try?
  • Hi

You can get rolls of screening material, like a window film, we have used it in the past and it is quite cheap. It simply peals off afterwards, no mess at all
