Veuve Clicquot champagne £16.75 Somerfield - super bargain

Top quality champagne for half price (or better)...

One of those mysterious green labels where price is drastically reduced for a while but no promo and not a discontinued line. Does anyone who works there know what these are?

In Tonbridge High St branch, but expect it will be available in all branches.

Best I've previously got Veuve at is £25 so this really is a fab offer. Enjoy!

    If it's a nationwide offer it's a good one.

Maybe it is only the one shop then. They might be clearing stuff out before turning it into a Co-op. They already have what's left of the Somerfield brannded stuff on half price, but there is lots of promotional material for that sale.
  • None in my local Co-ops or Somerfield. A good buy if you can find one!

Lots more lines added to green label sale yesterday. Various wines half price, though out of stock on the reduced wine boxes. They still have some Veuve at £16.75. Also around the store, other items also going for half price. I spotted some honey, jam & lemon curd, some curry sauces, mayonnaise. There is no promotional material for any of these, and they are not being advertised. Just a matter of spotting the green labels on the shelves.

I was in another branch that has already converted to Co-op but it didn't have any of the reductions, so looks like old-style Somerfield is the place to look.

Our Somerfield changed to a co-op last year and there were massive reductions on lines that were not going to be stocked by the new shop. Also all somerfield branded products went down to really silly prices, like 25p for a box of own brand cereal, 50p for pretty polly opaque tights, 99p for lithium batteries, the long life digital camera ones plus loads more. I really stocked up on the batteries and am still using groceries. It's saved us a fortune. Find out from the staff when the actua;l change is going to happen and check regularly for further reductions, especially in the two to three weeks before the changeover. Happy bargain hunting!
  • The other store in Tonbridge was recently closed while it changed from Somerfield to Coop. (Guess this is the other branch you went in). They had some brilliant bargains, nearly all half price. Not just own brand but big brand names too. Stocked up on loads of things. Have heard the main store is closing soon to change over. So think they are selling off too!
