it was certainly genuine. Lawyer said go thro the small claims court. CAB helped me and came to court with me and I was awarded £1500 back. Its too long a story to relate it all but I lost money and felt a real twit. One lives and learns

oh and a lot of people tried to help me so I felt better in that respect. But it was a clever con and they got away with it pretty much.

You were so right... a real con. In court it was dealt with under some out of date 1925 property act. Not under current consumer law so that did not help me. Oh well I am wiser and a lot older now!!!! It was Enough to give anyone grey hairs as not nice to go through but I tell myself some people have much nastier things happen, like loosing their health ... though this mistake in my life did affect my health some what.

Still we have to make the best of whats left and learn from our mistakes.... and its a shame but that means not being trusting or even being sure one is making the right decisions in life.
