An unwelcome loan

oh and I forgot to mention, they've charged me £12.00 for having to contact me and added £70 interest to my account so my balance is now £18,900. Is it any wonder I haven't been clearing it?0
-
bloody hell they take the p***, how do they justify £70 interest!!!
What do you mean about not allowed to offset against arrears?
They sorted out the issues with my loan today but once they rebooked again the interest went sky high again back to near £50,000, I cant understand why they have taken since May to try and fix it.
Wonder if I can claim against them for them being useless!!!0 -
I mean they can't withold your re-claimed PPI and knock it off what you owe them. They have to give you it back separately.
Don't speak to them on the phone anymore, insist all contact is made in writting, I've found out the hard way that they tell you something different everytime you speak to them.
If I was you I'd speak to someone from the CAB and in the meantime file a complaint with the Financial Services Ombudsman!0 -
had a letter from welcome, saying they have rebooked my loan and it is now £8000 with £3000 in arrears, i have written back to them to say how can my loan go up when i reclaimed the PPI which I have still not received, I went to the FOS 4 weeks ago and they have written to them and have told me i must have a response within 8 weeks.0

Hi Ian
I've had a bit of a breakthrough. :T
I got a letter on Saturday from Welcome admitting they'd made a mistake. In November 09 my balance was reduced to £704 (not £780 as I'd first thought) and towards this I've paid £675. They said there's been "a breakdown in communication" between the collections department and my local branch which they've apologised for and agreed to close the account and write off the remaining balance (all of £29, which is big of them!)
I'm debating on whether or not to try and claim back the £425 in charges or just leave it and be glad it's all over, it's been nothing but a nightmare from start to finish.
They also included a PPI questionaire with their reply, I'm still waiting for a copy of my credit agreement and a subject access request though.
Keep on at them Ian, make an official complaint to their head office in Nottingham and make it clear that if you do not receive a satisfactory answer you will make a complaint to the FOS.
I was quite suprised how quickly mine was dealt with.0 -
Hi gemma,
Fantastic news, I am pleased its all over for you, never go back to them!!! i am envious of your position haha. Claim it back they mis sold it and have caused you stress claim it back as a bit of compensation or a sorry for all the messing around.
The FO sent a letter to them 5 weeks ago but they have not bothered getting back to me yet. I have complained to Nottingham and all they say is ignore all the letters we know your account balance is wrong we are trying to correct it but have technical issues.
I go back to the FOS in 3 weeks but am not sure what they will do. I am thinking about speaking to a solicitor if they dont sort it by Christmas. they now have my account standing at £8000 with £3000 of it in arrears it was only £6500 when i originally complained my PPI was mis-sold.
Well done for getting yours sorted let me know how you get on with the ppi reclaim.
