Boots Extra long life AA batteries - 18 for £2.48

Just back from Boots at Fort Kinnaird Edinburgh. They have a stock of their own brand Extra Long Life batteries in their reduced section. It looks as though they've been reduced because Boots have changed the packaging and the ones I picked up are dated June 2013. As well as being reduced to £1.49, they are in a "4+2" blister pack. The current buy 2, get 1 free offer on Boots brand batteries also kicks in so you get 3 packs of 6 AA batteries for £2.48.

They also had AAA packs, but I didn't notice if these had extra free in the pack.

I know that rechargeable batteries are more eco friendly and I do use rechargeables. However, I also like to have conventional batteries in the draw as a back up to cover the "Dad, the batteries in my camera are flat" comments I invariably get just as we're about to go out somewhere!

Glad to hear these AA are out there in some Boots.

My local has had the AAA and C ones on the reduced section intermittently for at least 6 months.
Stocked up on them, but could really do with the AA ones as well for the TV/SKY hand control !!

The AAA ones were also "4 + 2 free", while the C ones are "2 + 2 free" - so also excellent value as I also get them on Boots 3 for 2 offer...... They seem to have batteries permanently on this it seems;)

To repeat what sasenach said, these are the Boots own label "extra long life" alkaline batteries.
They are red/orange packs, batteries themselves are black with reddish writing.
