Hi girl, who is the debt agent you're with? No way should payment take 15 days to clear!!!! I'd write to them (don't phone) and explain that you are on JSA, and can not afford to pay any more. And be firm with then and insist they close your account. I'd also get rid of the debt agent if they are that inefficient that it takes them 15 days to sort it:mad: The £56 might be made up of late payment money, ask for a breakdown of charges as well.

As you've discovered talking on the phone to a company you owe money to is very often a good way to get bullied, harrassed and pressured without a thing you say getting heard. That's why we say write, always write.

Send them a letter saying your account is to be closed right now as you can't afford to pay it.

I have never heard of a payment taking 15 days to clear, that's scandalous! Who is this with? What's the nature of thier business?
I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.
(Ok, one of them is powerless, spiders can be nasty.)

As of the last count I have cleared
    [STRIKE]23.16%[/STRIKE] 22.49% of my debt. :(

You send it to 3 mobile on the address you have for them (should be one on your bill) and no, there is no need to prove yourself at this stage. Cancelling your account is something you've got a right to do, it's not something you have to justify and prove yourself for like getting your brother to lend you his car or something- it's not a favour, it's a basic right!

So you just say something like...

    Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to close my account. I would like it closed immediately so that no further charges or interest are added. I do not want to open another account or change my package and therefore no further debate will be entered into with your useless customer service team (who are clearly a sales team in disguise). I have already wasted my time trying to communicate with them. If I have any further difficulties in closing this account I will take further action including but not limited to contacting Ofcom.

The reason I said about Ofcom is they're the regulator, if 3 don't behave themselves you can grass them up to what is effectively the dinner ladies of the telephone playground and they'll be in lots of trouble. 3 know this and so it really sets the "I am not a young lady that will take any more of your cr*p" tone!

Oh f***, Moorcroft. They're real shysters. No wonder there's an issue.

If it's already gone to a DCA (Debt Collection Agency) like Moorcroft then ignore the above letter because it IS already closed.

Did your debt go up when Moorcroft took it over by any chance?

I'm so sorry I haven't reply back to you for some time now.
I've been busy with 3 mobile. I have send a recorded letter to 3 mobile and they have recived it on the 16/8/10 (which was yesterday) I'm now giving the 10 days from the 16th of august (which would be the 27th of augest I need to here back from them by)
so hopefully I can get this account close and 3 mobile can leave me in peace.
