Sell my car

Options
Tried autotrader online and in print. Tried advertising in supermarkets. Tried putting up signs in car. Tried reducing price.

V reasonable price, but can't get anyone interested. Anybody got any good ideas to get my car sold?

    Have you tried Ebay?

Take some good quality photos and set the options for collection only (postage would be a nightmare!) and then set the starting price as what you would be willing to accept.

Have a look at Ebay and se what the fees are - if not too steep it might be worth a look.

  • I sold my car on eBay a few months ago. It was an old Ford Escort l reg. I wanted around £150 for it, but managed to get £210. The listing fee was something like £15 so it was well worth it.

The couple that bought it drove 100 miles round trip to collect it so there are plenty of serious buyers out there. Just be totally honest in your description and give as much info as possible to the minute detail.

Also take three or four photos of the car at different angles, this helps give confidence to potential buyers.

Thanks for the info.  Looked at ebay, but been holding off for now.

It's a good car, I've never had any problems with it and the front brake discs were replaced a few months back.

Problem is that it has been 'accident repaired (I believe that is the term).  It's all fine now and has passed all it's inspections, but I am thinking this will put people off on ebay.  If they see the car they will realise there is a small scuff on the back bumper and it's otherwise fine.

The other thing is - I have seen long winded spiels on ebay 'you are bidding to BUY...' etc.  What is the vital info / provisos I should include?

Saver007 - if you do happen to be in the Glasgow area you can send me a personal message and i can give you more details.

Don't want to post info here though as I selling stuff through these boards isn't really the done thing I believe.

Accident repair cars are popular sellers, just remember that legally you have to disclose that!

Having said that ... laws are there to be broken, afterall car dealers do it every day!
