Newcastle upon Tyne - free things to do in the evenings?
Options
Hi guys,
Does anyone have any suggestions for free things to do in the Newcastle area in the evenings? I'm thinking of free evening events in the next few months, or free places to visit that are open in the evenings.
I work from home and find I'm desperate to get out of the house when my day's work is done, but money is tight. I'm open to all and any suggestions!
Thanks very much in advance,
M

The Village Hotel (Cobalt) is currently offering a free 3 day pass to their gym, which also includes pool/sauna/steam room etc.
It is 3 consecutive days though - free swimming every night of the year in the North Sea though.
Tel: Village Hotel 0191 270 6432 for details.

I've been to quite a few free library events at the newly built Newcastle City Library, google their website and subscribe to their newsletter. They are open late in the evenings so it's a good place to go browsing as well if you're a book lover.
The Late Shows have ended for this year but keep an eye out for that too as tons of free events on there. Most of the museums are still free and often host events like The Hancock and the centre for Life often has free events runnings.
Then there is the free cinema codes thread where they often have tickets for Silverlink or Metrocentre, been to Silverlink loads recently for free films.
I've got some friends that run a pop-up shop in town (closing shortly) and they have exhibitions on in there in the gallery which are free.
If I think or stumble across any more I'll let you know as I'm in the same position.TANSTAAFL - unless you have a voucher for said lunch from MSE0 -
Oh the 'pop up shop' is in Nun Street in the centre of Newcastle (round the corner from Ann Summers) and is called Made in Newcastle.TANSTAAFL - unless you have a voucher for said lunch from MSE0
