Help with Letter from Robinson Way ltd

Hi Everyone
I have recieved a letter today from the above company asking that for the " purpose of validation can I call the freephone number to confirm if I lived at the address mentioned"

I did live at this address but it was 8 years ago and also they are calling me Mrs and then my maiden name,I am just wondering what to do about this as I know they are one of these companies that buys old debts which I could possibly have from a Next catalogue from when I was a financial wreck,(thankfully I am almost recovered from that dreadful part of my life).

I have no intentions of calling the company but what to do I have learnt from past mistakes that ignoring them does not work.
Any suggestions most gratefully recieved.

Ignore it. The less information this company has on you, the better.

    Hi Jayne,

They are probably just fishing at the minute, but the debt is almost certainly statute barred as long as you have not acknowledged it or paid it in 6 years, so ignore them for the time being. Howeve, if the letters etc continue you could send them the prove it letter first and if they can prove you owe the debt, then the statute barred letter. Ignore them in the meantime and see what happens.
If you've nothing decent to say, perhaps you shouldn't say anything.
