are woolworths pulling the plug on big W stores

Went in the Manchester store for the first time in November. What a terrible place. A great big cavenous place in which everything seemed to be coloured cream and with really bright lighting. The whole of the stock seemed to be tat and it was the worst shop that I can recall for a long time.

It comes as no surprise to hear that it's closing. Who would want to shop there?

Big W in Newark hasnt been open very long but already its being halved and TK Maxx are going into the other half of it.Woolworths in Lincoln closed down about a year ago,no sign of another woolies or Big W.

Yup Woolworths are scrapping BIG W.

Selected more profitable stores will be converted to brand new format woolworths stroes which look very nice indeed! like Norwich and Tamworth already have, the rest afaik will be sold to other companies. The convertered stores will be downsized and the rest sold of to little shops.

Your job might not be at risk if your store is converted.
