    Thanks 3dogs and If

    I will have a google.

3dogs we feed her one wet food pouch and she has dried food down all the time (she is a real grazer and never munches it all up - she doesn't hardly eat much)

I might have a go then at changing her food.... it's just some times she doesn't eat any biscuits at all? and I would worry! (see 3 Dogs I am a complete whuse when it comes to her - she does rule the roost!)

The vet said to put some bran in her food (is that the same as Flax If?)

You are going to think me silly now........ but i would feel a bit mean just giving her dried - do you think they notice? I dont mind cooking her fresh meat if that will help?

    xx

Yes Looloo, Flax is similar to bran.......if her food is okay with her don't change it, as that can cause often more problems x

Glad your still here Numpty, good luck on your freebie hunt x

My yellow lab has allegy troubles & when she was younger, was very wary of new foods so i fed her chicken & rice. I lost count of the bags of do g food i bought & she wouldn't eat. Luckily my other lab is a right vulture & was happy to finsh it off. Any change in diet for a dog should be done over a period of days

Have you tried her on Bak*rs Complete Small Dogs - that's what we get for Bonnie - it has soft bits in as well as little bits - and add just a tiny bit of warm water then shake it up - the water lifts the flavour. If you have dried down for her all the time, you have no way of knowing how much she is eating day to day and the hard bits go even harder too for her old teeth - it would best to give her 2 or 3 small feeds during the day and pick them up after a while - she will soon get used to eating it if she wants it

We also use Bak*rs Meaty Meals for Small dogs too as they are soft

I would say, if anything, it would be the wet pouch you are using that I would try changing. I know what you mean about only feeding her dry food - but it is better for their stomach and teeth - honest - try changing it gradually though, you don't her to have the runs as well

Ah thanks 3Dogs she does love the Complete for small dogs that is what we give her (but with the warm water - that sounds a good idea) - She picks all the peas out though! seriously she does!

Ok I will try that and get in the habbit of picking up her bowl and weening her off the wet stuff.... (i feel like a bad mummy but I know it will be in her interest)

cheers for all the help and tips everyone!
