Hi Ras,
Pretty much what I was thinking to be honest.
Thanks for the heads up on the freegle site, I'll check it out now.
I normally buy my clothes second hand anyway, I hate shelling out for expensive new ones and am a bit phobic of selecting something off a rack of all the same shirts, trousers, etc... LOL.
I have to admit, I'm glad I posted this question as I'm feeling buoyed with all the support and advice I'm getting.0 -
Hi Monkeyballs,
As some of the others have said, the credit union likes you to save for a while before getting a loan and if you save £10 per month that would form a favourable impression. In my credit union, they have a phrase that if you cannot afford to save £1 per week, then you cannot afford to borrow. However, I've been with the Credit Union for 14 years and they've seen me through some pretty horrible financial times. Good luck with the GA meetings and I hope everything works out well for you. If you need any additional advice/support, you'll always get it on this forum. If you've nothing decent to say, perhaps you shouldn't say anything.
£2 savings jar £300:D
Total credit card debts £1250:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: - Will I ever learn!!0 -
Hi Bottle,
Thanks for the advice. I'm really glad I posted this question actually as I feel like I'm getting a lot of really good advice.
I think I've also settled on a course of action...
I am going to wait for 2 months before applying and then give them 4 months of statements which will show that I've managed to go without gambling in that time which will hopefully show that I'm serious about getting myself and my finances back on track, this will also reduce the amount which I need to borrow anyway which will hopefully look even better... I think... ?
Does this make sense of have I missed any glaringly obvious problems with my plan?
At the moment I have no money so I am going to struggle but on the plus side it means A. I can't gambe even if I wanted to and B. The little money I do have which I have set aside for food wil mean more which will (I hope) make me appreciate it more.
I know This is just the start but thanks to everyone's support I do feel like I can crack this and get my life back!
Thanks everyone, I really appreciate your support.0 -
The only obvious oversight I can see is keep paying into a CU account for that time yeah. Looks better than just asking for a loan.I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.
(Ok, one of them is powerless, spiders can be nasty.)
As of the last count I have cleared [STRIKE]23.16%[/STRIKE] 22.49% of my debt.
