Do Natwest accept CCCS DMP?

Have just begun a dmp with cccs and am awaiting creditors response, I have a lot of unsecured debt with many creditors (about 20K) but the majority of it is with Natwest.

What have been other people experiences of dealing with Natwest on DMP?

Thankyou ! x

    Hi DMP1984

Great to hear you have just started your DMP!

Natwest would look at each case individually.

If for any reason they decided not to accept your offer, then we would keep sending the money anyway.

You can't pay them money you do not have! The whole point of putting together a budget is to see what you can realistically afford after paying all your priority bills and everyday living costs.

If you have any concerns at all once you are up and running on your DMP, do not hestitate to contact us. Our client support team will be able to help you further.

    Regards
    Sue

I would have thought someone from the CCCS (or maybe not) would have advised the OP to transfer their current account away from any creditors they may have...

ive been dealing with Natwest for 5-6yrs now via CCCS, i owed them 27k. anyway they excepted the CCCS payments for a while but would not stop interest and charges, then they decided to take me to court and get a charge on my house, they lost and no order was granted but i did get a CCJ from it and they ended up getting a monthly payment of less that they wanted and what i had originaly offered them.

6yrs down the line and after paying them thousands of pounds i still owe close to the original amount i borrowed because they still continue to charge me interest at 8 percent a month and theres nothing i can do to stop them, we are selling up next year and paying them and my other creditors off once and for all.

just keep your wits about you when dealing with them, if they pass you over to Shoesmiths there solicitors then be prepared for court action..
  • The OP doesnt mention their current a/c just unsec debt. But yes, CCCS do advise you to switch banks from your Creditors, due to set off rights I believe.
Often wondered what to do if you have debt with all the major players??
  • I have all my current accounts with them, but have already opened a back up account with another bank now for my salary to go into

You could always try the Co-op - they are quite used to setting up basic bank accounts I believe and are often recommended on the bankruptcy board.

Hopefully Natwest will accept. If not, then maybe you can save a small amount for full and final settlement or maybe get others paid off and then you may be able to afford to pay Natwest more - who knows - either way there's not much you can do about it - if you haven't got it they can't have it.
Good Luck with your dmp - the first few months can be a bit rocky from what I've heard as the creditors settle down but hopefully it will all go smoothly for you.

    Hello.

I switched to barclays before starting my CCCS dmp. All our creditors were fine except natwest. Natwest are also our largest creditor but only by a few hundred- alas we went to court today and lost. (see my recent thread) Our personal experience is that despite being a Natwest member for 25 years (two-thirds of those NOT owing them money i should add), I've had better service from Barclays in 11 months........ Good luck with your DMP.
  • Great news! Natwest have agreed to accept the reduced payments for a limited period but are going to 'periodically' review this! This is a massive weight off my mind!

Has anybody else had any experience with how often they review this arrangement, or what will happen when they do? I am worried they will suddenly reject the lot and push me down the CCJ route!!
  • Also...
Is it wise for me to save anymore I can incase they pile on the pressure, or try and overpay monthly? any suggestions would be really helpful and appeciated thankyou
