Hi does anyone know if santander request p60s as well as payslips when applying for a mortgage and do they need originals or will photocopies do?
Is there any other form of id they require?
Thank you

I've just been accepted for an Abbey mortgage (part of Santander). I applied through a broker and they only needed one month's playslip and one month's bank statement. No P60. I scanned mine in and emailed them to broker - was fine.0

thanks for your reply, I have been photocopying everything in work today as not in for a week...have my application phone call tonight with them so want to be prepared if we get the go ahead and have everything ready to send
I currently have my mortgage with Abbey but am applying for a larger mortgage as we are moving house. When you applied did you have any loans with them? My partner has a loan with them for £6k and i have a credit card with them but the people at santander did not seam to think that was an issue just wondering if anyone else has been in a similar situation.2010 WinsNov Food Hamper and Kitchen Ware Set0 -
I didn't have any loans with Santander or anyone else, but I think Santander are known for being one of the more lenient lenders in terms of accepted income and multiples.0

I applied with Alliance and Leicester, sent in three months payslips and P60, plus some other crap particular to my circumstances.
Apparantly I have been approved although I am waiting for the paperwork to come through.0 -
Does Santander / Abbey National require life assurance with a mortgage? Friend of mine's wife died recently, had a Abbey mortgage for years and cannot find the relevant life cover details. He thinks the life cover may have been cancelled and is now struggling to pay the monthly repayments - his wife was the main breadwinner. I thought all mortgages had to have life cover, so thought his mortgage would be paid off now that his wife has passed away. Any help appreciated.0

No lender requires life cover, they all strongly recommend it. As do brokers... amazing the number of people though who think it will never happen to them and decide they don't want to bother with it. People happy to pay £20 a month for pet insurance, but not £20-30 for life cover to protect their mortgage.0

I only had to provide 1 payslip under their fast track.
They tried to sell me Life assurance, insurance etc, but the girl who done my application didn't push me as I had excellent cover with my employer0 -
