It is probably a scam if it is anything like Cho Yung tea.The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0

I dont think its a scam as they are selling it at a ridiculous price in my local food store but the exact same one is priced cheaper on ebay.0

I'd be checking exactly what is in it before taking any.0

Almost all these so-called miracle slimming aid teas work the same way - great claims of boosting metabolism, detoxing etc, but really all you're doing is filling up on hot water, which very temporarily decreases your appetite.
If you must try it, go for green or white tea from a reputable brand, which at least has some proven antioxidant effects. Teapigs is good for this - whole leaf tea which doesn't look and taste like floor sweepings."All cruelty springs from weakness" - Lucius Annaeus SenecaPersonal pronouns are they/them/their, please.
I'm intolerant of wheat, citrus, grapes, grape products and dried vine fruits, tomato, and beetroot, and I am also somewhat caffeine sensitive.0 -

Hi,
I agree with this, I get mine from Teapigs, there is one called matcha. A really strong, green tea type powder. You mix it into a small cold water or orange juice. Full of really powerful antioxidants.
It's not cheap but worth it in my opinion. It does, apparently have weight loss properties but I don't use it for that and I haven't noticed a huge difference. Then I have been eating a bit more chocolate lately so maybe that's balancing it out

I would suggest going to an actual Chinese Herbalist- they can prescribe you things and make them up for you, its more personal and designed for you rather then a general thing.
I am not so sure about weight loss claims- weight loss is a simple equation: less calories going in then coming out = weight loss, so unless these teas make you want to run several miles every day, make you feel very anxious or supress your appetite, I doubt they will do very much at all. But I have had friends who have tried teas or ointments prescribed by herbalists for things like skin conditions (eczema) and its worked out well. I get the feeling that quantities may also be variable this way too so you could sample things rather then buying loads of the stuff to see if it helped.0 -
I am actually very sceptical of all weight loss claims made by various products, up to and including the practise of gastric banding. Weight control is anything but a simple process due to the variety of homeostatic controls employed by the body - a lot of which are survival mechanisms. Nutritionists are basically just beginning to comprehend the many systems which contribute to weight gain and loss. Calories in=calories out may work if you are a bunsen burner, not a human being!
Basically, go get your tea for health reasons. Don't expect it to be a magic bullet when it comes to weight loss. Because nothing is."All cruelty springs from weakness" - Lucius Annaeus SenecaPersonal pronouns are they/them/their, please.
