  • Thanks for all your replies - it's funny to realise I'm not the only one and this will probably carry on into my 30s and beyond! I suppose we should all enjoy it while it lasts...

But to be fair sis, you do still look about 18 :p and if we're working it the same way then I should look about 12...actually, that's probably not far off :rotfl: We are a very young looking family though. I don't think any of our relatives look their age do they?!

I still get ID'd and i'm 26 in a week or so. It used to bother me but now I don't care! I have ID so just hand it over and get one with it.

I love getting ID'd. Makes me feel young again. I always take it as a compliment, although I do have a perticular tone of voice I use if I've forgotten my ID. "What do you mean you want ID, I'm 30!" "Oh, right, of course, here's your beer.

I am 27 and have been ID'd a couple of times lately, I think its more embarressing if you are with someone, it doesnt bother me if I am by myself.

Oddly enough, I'm 22 and I never seem to get ID'd. Even as someone who doesn't look older than the next 22 year old. Haven't been ID'd in years now.

I'm 23 and I get ID'd all the time too. It's worst at the supermarket, I don't usually get ID'd in bars but I guess that's probably because I'm dressed up and have make up on etc.

I do find it a bit embarrassing but it's not too bad aslong as I have some ID with me. The worst one was in Tesco when I went with my boyfriend for a weekly shop (he is 25). The woman on the checkout asked for ID from both of us, my boyfriend had some but I didn't. She refused to serve us because I couldn't prove I was over 18 and he might have been buying it for me!! So apparently, if you go shopping with someone under 18, or someone who looks younger than 18, then you can't buy alcohol!

I understand they can get fined but they should use their discretion... we had a weeks shopping with us with one bottle of wine and anyway, I'm sure it can't be illegal for someone over 18 to buy booze just because they have someone younger in their company! That's just crazy!
