Anyone else still getting ID'd?

I still get ID'd from time to time and I'm 36! I am short and slender though and I know I look younger than I am, although I don't look under 25 and definitely not under 18 so I do get a bit annoyed when asked for ID as I don't have a driving licence and am not about to carry my passport everywhere. I don't mind being asked much though as long as the person is polite about it.
When I was on holiday in the US recently and did have my passport with me I got ID'd buying cigarettes, the woman looked at my passport, saw my age and went - I swear - 'Lawd a'mercy, I'd never have thunk it!':rotfl:
Edit: also just remembered, last year was in a museum with my OH and his kids (age 20 and 16) and queuing for an exhibit the attendant thought he had 3 kids with him - did she look embarrassed when she realised!0 -

And they also send out people that look some where around the 18/19 age to make sure we are 1d'ing people that look under 21 but over 18. We get sent on courses and get reminder stickers and posters and loads of other stuff. Cause if we do serve an underage person we can lose our jobs and the bookies could worse case lose their licence. My oldest so far is 37:eek:
me too, and don't forget your District manager could end up in prison!
some staff I know are on a written warning for being caught, they are naturally doubly cautious.
Only one person has ever got stroppy with me for asking.:T0 -
I'm nearly 27 and still get asked for my id too...I feel a little embarrassed sometimes, but I kind of expect it now when I go to M&S and buy the £10 dine for two deal which includes a wine bottle...
I look very young for my age, I'm rather petite but not too small, I guess I just have a fresh face (I don't wear foundation or fake tan etc) with lots of little freckles, so I suppose the freckles do the trick!:p:jOur flat deposit: my savings so far: £13,942.94 as at 09/08/2010 :T0 -
Its great for ageing and looking good when you're older but i'm the same, I'm a 25 year old woman with ambitions for my own business within the next couple of years and fit your sterotypical busty blonde profile. Its not like its my fault!! am not permatanned or boob jobbed or anything and dress nicely. However despite this I have a babyface and look like a 19 year old girl and get ID'd constantly!! People patronise me as if i'm stupid and watch over things I do like I need guidance for everything. It REALLY annoys me but I love to suprise them!
Does anyone else get this sort of treatment along with getting ID'd?0 -
Im 21 and dont tend to get ID'd. But i dont buy alcohol anyway as i dont drink
I once got ID'd for a pocket sewing kit because it had 1 sewing needle in :rotfl:
I do remember when i was 19 and went into the co-op with my mum to buy a bottle of vodka, i got ID'd (as i thought i would) so i gave her my passport. I was blonde in my passport so she didn't belive it was me and asked for something else, so i gave her my citizen card which says "18 on the 18th Jan 2007"
The woman (with the smuggest smile on the face) went "Well i cant serve you, it says here your NOT 18"
I said i was and said "It says there 18 on the 18th Jan 2007, its now 2008!"
In the end she had to get a manager down to refuse me, he looked at my ID and told her i was right and to serve me.
I sooo wanted to shout "HA!" :rotfl:0 -
I am 31 (almost 32) and get ID'd all the time. Mostly by children in supermarkets. I think they have been told to ID everyone as they can loose their job if they serve someone underage. I take is a compliment now!Lydia
