JSA and do college course

Hi
I am 24 and i would like to do a part time college course, at the moment i am claiming no benefits, however the course that i want to do is £1120 but i was told by college if im on JSA then i would only have to pay £53 to do the course.
So if i was to sign on how would i go about starting the course.
Would i need to stay signed on untill the course is finished?
or could i sign off after i started the course?
People at job center dont make much sence
Thanks

For what reason are you not claiming at present? Would you qualify for JSA?Gone ... or have I?0

If you claim JSA and are on a college course, the course must be less than 16 hours a week, and you must basically agree with the Job Centre that you will give up the course if you find employment.Barclaycard 0% - [STRIKE]£1688.37 [/STRIKE] Paid off 10.06.120

If you are undertaking a 1yr course and are exempt from fees at the start of the course- they will be paid in full and the start of your course and whatever changes happen after the course starts do not affect this. I did a 2 year course and my income meant I was exempt at the start of the 1st year- my income changed and I paid my own fees for the second year. Best people to speak to our the college student services.Don't get strung out by the way I look,

The question you are asking is one you should address to the college that is offering the course-they are the ones who will decide the rules regarding payment of fees for the course. The Jobcentre would obviously not be able to answer any questions on fee reductions as the course isn't run by them!0

Hi, I am also on income based JSA and wanted to do the course at my local college. I have requested remission fee form where it's states "I agree that I will notify the college if I cease to receive the benefits stated above at any time during my course."
It's not so simple as it used to be... What if I will find a job in the middle if the course? Will I have to pay the course fee in full?0 -

If you are exempt, nobody actually pays your fees for you. Although many people get away with it, if your situation changes during the course you should notify the college and pay the appropriate fees.0 -
