Asda home delivery problems

Any one had problems with Asda's home delivery service? I stopped using them for about a year due to having to make phone calls after a delivery for one reason or another and I was tempted back by the offer of free delivery and a £10 off voucher. The first time I ordered from the again they arrived 20 mins late (no apology) and one of the items (gillette fusion blades) still had the security packaging on them. I immediately rang them and they said they'd get the driver to call back within the hour, he didn't. I rang again and they said they'd give me a refund for that item (£16.98) they didn't. I rang three more times (spoke to a manager the fourth and fifth time) and was told that this was totally unacceptable and not their standard of service and they'd refund the full amount of the order and offer me free delivery on my next, neither of which they've done. It's now almost a month since the order was delivered and I've emailed them today but they've failed to contact me. Any advice on how I can pursue this? I've never had any problems with Tesco or Sainsbury's - in fact the one time when Sainsbury's were 10 minutes late they gave me a £10 e-voucher. Asda won't be getting my custom again either in store or on line.

Thats a real shame and I dont blame you for being angry.

I love Asda delivery and wouldnt shop online anywhere else. On the odd occasion that I have had errors I always get an e voucher immediately and a refund within 4 days.

I always ring the 0844 number and they give me a reference number for the refund and any e vouchers so you know its gone through.

The last time I called them I demanded a £10 e voucher for disapointment and they called the store, then called me back within 5 minutes saying £20 had been added to my account which it had.

Good luck with your problem, I hope it gets resolved ;)

Thanks - I can't believe the difference in service standards. They obviously need to sack the home delivery manager at the store that serves my area.

Another query - I ordered some wine last week from Tesco for delivery on 6/8 - they charged my card for it straightaway. Is this something new - I've always been charged after they've scanned the delivery in the past.
  • I stopped using Asda as the service was poor and stale veg etc..A friend of mine used them and they just dumped their grocerys on the doorstep and cleared off some of the bags had been ripped open and some of the frozen food had finger holes in them.
I prefer waitrose the best their service is excellent and the frozen food delivered to the doorstep in a freezer box.But i mainly use Tesco i find sainsburys dont pick the best sell by dates so i only use them for dry goods.

I tried Waitrose and all my frozen stuff was crammed in carrier bags like the rest of the stuff? No freezer box on my delivery!

I had some chicken kebabs with mould on them and crushed fruit and when I called them all they said was sorry for ruining your dinner a refund is on its way so I will never ever use Waitrose again.

I would like to comment on this but I have an internet policeman commenting on my comments saying I am a troll and using their anonymity to make cowardly comments.Ocado are a bespoke home shopping service with a central warehouse which means fresher stock.Asda possibly use the home shop service to clear items nearing their sell-buy date thereby preserving the quality of in-store produce. In short there is a conflict of interest which Ocado do not have.Asda was bought by Walmart to find a way into the lucrative UK food retail market where gross mark-ups and net profit levels are much higher.Their role is to destabilise the status quo in their favour. Some writers seem anxious to preserve the reputation of Asda and are either stooges or sycophants-or even covert Asda reps trying to excuse their conduct.I speak only from my viewpoint and from relatively little experience, and oppose all forms of oligopolistic practice whether it is Asda or the Ocado run by venture capitalists as a hobby in their free time when not earning the corn in London EC1. Well said Madison-spot the apologist AF

Just shows how different your Asda store is from mine. The delivery men are always charming, food in date by a long way (except strawberries!), I wouldn't shop anywhere else! On the odd occasion something has been missing from my order, I have had a refund within the 7 days. Once they forgot my laundry washing liquid and the manager drove it to my house!

i dont believe this, the picker just picks whats on the shelf, theres no comspiracy to give home delivery customers stock thats nearing its sell by date

Maybe not, but the picker just picks whatever is in front.

Take bread, the shelf stackers, when stacking, put the new bread at the back, so people pick the oldest bread first. Because it is at the front.

Savvy shoppers know to look at the back for the freshest bread. Pickers are put under pressure to pick quickly, therefore just grab the loaf at the front.

So maybe there is no conspiracy to get get the pickers to pick the item with the shortest date, but stackers are told to put the shortest date at the front, and pickers are told to pick the one at the front. So it amounts to the same thing.

I am sorry to alarm you but I think you are being impersonated.A person answering your description said they always phoned the store when I posted a question about Asda errors earlier .It is nice to see that you succeed when you demand vouchers;I just hope I have the same success.

    Very funny......not

I call both until I get a decent refund/e vouchers.

The store need to know as its their errors and customer services need to know because they forward all problems to head office.

    Is that ok with you?
