Help! Tumeric Stain on new vinyl floor!

I've just had a new vinyl floor laid in the kitchen, its kind of.. cream, beige and silvery squares.

I've just noticed a small yellow stain, which must be tumeric as I was making pickled veg at the weekend.

I just can't seem to shift it! I've tried flash surface cleaning spray, washing up liquid and flash floor cleaner (neat). I don't want to use anything too harsh!

Any advice would be great!

I've just read on another website to use gin to remove tumeric. It might be worth a try.

;) Felines are my favourite ;)
  • Thank, I don't have any gin, but i've tried rum (which didn't work!) I'll buy one of those mini bottles next time i'm at the supermarket.

Luckily the stain is in a corner near a cupboard, so it's not too noticable.

Have you tried cream cleaner? Works for me :)

Just what I was about to suggest! :) It certainly gets turmeric marks off my plastic-coated work surfaces. (Being a slightly clumsy cook, I've had to try it on several occasions and it's worked every time so far. :o)
Back after a very long break!

The only way I know of getting turmeric stains out of things is daylight. Washing doesn't work for me. I hang clothes and table cloths on the line if it's fine or in a window. I leave chopping boards out in sunlight or propped up in a window. Don't know about floors though. If other people's suggestions don't work maybe daylight light bulbs.
    Hope that helps.

Sorry but I wouldnt try this as you may end up with a ` bleached` mark without getting out the turmeric! I would try some Oil of Eucalyptus which wont entrench the stain.
