    Ok peeps,

    Dbushes here again.

Well I have tried for some 0% cards but have been refused.

So where do we go next.

But on moving onto the subject of good news, I have managed to secure a second income. This income will be used to bring me closer to being debt free.

I am still working on reducing my outgoings so watch this space.

    :o)

    Hello
Just thought I'd say good luck!
You've had some really good advice - it will be tough putting it into motion, but you've got a super positive attitude, so I look forward to seeing how you get on

If your credit cards put the interest up, you're able to opt out. It means that you can't spend on it any more, but that the interest stays the same. If there's been any interest rate hikes and you haven't spent on them since then it might be worth writing and asking to do it retrospectively. The worst that can happen is they say no, and at least then you'll know you can do it in future.

What size property are you in? I'm in a one bed all electric and my electric dd is for £33 (I ended up in credit last year and should again this year) and my water useage is about a tenner a month. Just to give you a rough guide of what you could aim for.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.
  • Hi, here are a few suggestions although I don't think there is a lot of room for manoevre. If you pay your council tax over 10 months see if they will take it over 12 months instead. Your Gas and Elec look high if you live in a small flat but small if you live in a house but I couldn't see which. You could perhaps go on a water meter if you aren't already! See if you can get a package for phone and broadband and save a bit there.

Go PAYG for your mobile. Go freeview and save £60 per month easily. Have a look at your Groceries and go over to the old style board you may be able to shave £5 per week off which would save you another £20 per month.

Basically look at everything you spend money on and see if you can get the same cheaper or maybe not have it. Hope these ideas help.

Well my MSE friends, I've had a result.

Barclaycard have agreed to refund the full cost of my credit card charges. They total a whooping £86.02. The credit should hit my account any moment now.

Not bad as a start. I am waiting for responses from my other cards.

    Hi MSE friends,

I am trying a number of different things to earn money.

I have won a couple of radio competitions recently and am now Ebaying one of the prizes (other non transferable).

Gonna do some more Ebaying today and tomorrow - after all everything I can throw at my debt is always a good thing.

Have a great weekend MSE and remember WE CAN DO IT.

    Hi MSE friends,

Added another one to my Ebaying list. Working through all the bits and bobs I have that I no longer use.

Going onto Amazon as well to clear some of these books I own, have read and really no longer need.

Hmmm think I saw some old vinyls in the cupboard yesterday - does anyone know who gives you the best price for vinyls? or any other suggestions.

Ok have a great MS week everyone.

    Hey MSE peeps,

Well the postman just came and dropped a letter saying I have been awarded £90.77 of charges (I did request over £200) from one of my credit cards.

This works something else for the pot and all that.

Spoke to a friend of mine who has a part time job and they have said they will put in a good word for me. (WATCH THIS SPACE)

Ok moving on swiftly, what else can I do to raise some money?

In relation to selling vinyl ebay may be the best place as otherwise you have a middleman taking a cut but may be worth looking into what record stores would offer you.

This website shows you what vinyl has recently sold for so could be worth you searching to see what your vinyls may fetch before approaching record stores or ebaying. It will only let you do a few searches before it locks you out though so spread your searches out and may be get someone to do some searches for you :rotfl:

EDIT: I'm not allowed to post links as a newbie ... the website is popsike so go google :p

If you do go with ebay make sure to say you will ship internationally if you want the possibility of the best price/biggest audience ... and charge what it will actually cost you for postage as you will need to buy special record mailers to ensure no damage in transit! :o
