I saw this in store, was not impressed with the picture quality. It was playing a dvd at the time, so don't know if it was the DVD/tv or setup, but picture was poor.0

Nothing Funai about that.
That seems a very cheap and obscure brand. I'd certainly want feedback on it before I bought it as most retailer's policies are you can't return LCD TV's just for not liking them.
Once you reach a certain brand obscureness and cheapness and are prepared to gamble and sacrifice quality for it, you have to ask yourself whether you're just getting one simply to join the LCD TV bandwagon0 -
If the television isn't of merchantable quality (i.e. a crap picture and you haven't been told the picture is crap) you have every right to take it back for a full refund, by law.RedOnRed wrote:most retailer's policies are you can't return LCD TV's just for not liking them.
Don't rely on brand names. Plenty of rubbish is sold under them too.Once you reach a certain brand obscureness...Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0 -

If the picture is poor but the TV is working within specification you may find that doesn't apply. A fault is a different matter. A lot of retailers specify items like TV's as non-returnable beforehand and aren't obliged to refund or replace unless faulty.0 -
You might have to take them to the small claims court to get your money back, but if the TV doesn't meet your reasonable expectation of what a TV should do, then you will be entitled to return it. In particular, I would argue that you would expect that new technology would perform as well as an old CRT set. Most of them don't.Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0

There are quality variations in anything you buy. If I buy a Panasonic and think that it's not as good as a Sony that's subjective and debatable.
If you buy the cheapest unheard TV brand you can find and take legal action on the basis that it under performs to a more expensive well known brand then good luck to you. I'll remember that one if I ever buy a Fiat Panda and feel it under achieves to a Ferrari.0 -
But I'm not saying that. I'd be comparing this with any CRT TV.RedOnRed wrote:If you buy the cheapest unheard TV brand you can find and take legal action on the basis that it under performs to a more expensive well known brand then good luck to you.

£449? My other half's getting a 32 inch HD tv for £130, i'd never pay over £400 for a TV, i'll ask him where he's getting the TV from when he gets back from the west ham match.~*Cerenia*~

I've very much read your postings. The ones with profanities and misleading information you mean?0
